Our Essence
Ocean Surfpoint was created to combine Rachid's passion to teach surf, and Julie's passion for business. Our previous experience within surf and business makes both of us motivated and eager to create and build an up-and-coming and hopefully the preferred surf school in Essaouira within a few years. With two very different backgrounds and experiences, we have the perfect combination to offer you a unique experience. We are fun, open minded, and curios to get to know new people.
Mindset
The idea is simple, we want you to enjoy your time with lots of surf, smile and laughter. We will personally take care of you as our guests.
The most important thing for us is that you have fun, feel satisfied and feel like you get the best experience and time. Let's keep the booking easy and simple, and the surfing fun and safe.
Heritage
It all started when Julie met Rachid surfing in Essaouira 2019. A love story later turned into a business together, and Ocean Surfpoint was born in 2021. We aim to combine the best of two worlds, with our knowledge, experience, and cultures. Rachid's lifelong experience as a surf instructor from Morocco and Julie's experience as a business consultant from Norway and internationally.
Surfing is my passion and been since I started in a young age. Use your body, hear the sound of the waves, and see the beauty of the ocean. After over 10 years of working for other surf schools, we decided to realize the dream of starting our own surf school.
As a certified surfing instructor with a lifelong experience of surfing, I have become well-known and respected in the Essaouira area with clients of all ages from all over the world. I speak English, French, Spanish and Arabic.
I developed my own unique and effective teaching methods. I push, but I also motivate. Early on, I identify what each student can achieve, with my goal being to help them reach, then exceed, that potential.
In the lesson I focus on safety, technique both in the sand and in the water and of course practice. I want you to have fun and contribute to create memories you will never forget.

I am originally from Norway, but I have been traveling and living abroad my entire life. You could say I feel like a citizen of the world at this point!
I have always wanted to start my own company, being surrounded by adventure, culture, and new experiences. And growing up by the ocean, having that as my playground has always been the dream.
For the last 10 years I have been working as a management and business consultant. After continuously helping other companies improving their businesses, its time to try the magic on our own company.
Why Essaouira you might ask? After traveling and living in different parts of the world, I have met and learnt a lot about exciting cultures and people. And the chill vibe and beauty of Essaouira, is why I fell in love with the place! Fun fact, the author of one of Norway's most famous fairytales for children, Thorbjørn Egner, was inspired by Essaouira when writing it.
